YEAR END GIVING
This is the season when we give thanks to God for all he has done for us — not only this past year but throughout our lives. It is also the time to consider how we might give back our wealth or assets to him with a year-end gift. Year-end giving is a wonderful way to thank God for the gifts he has entrusted to us. We hope that you will consider Holy Family as a beneficiary for your year-end gifts.

Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD)*
Charity minded parishioners aged 70 ½ and older have a tax-smart strategy available to them with their traditional IRA accounts. It’s called the QCD. The QCD, also known as the Charitable IRA Rollover, allows a donor to instruct a traditional IRA Administrator to send up to $100,000 per year – all or part of the annual Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) - to their local parish.
The IRA assets go directly to the parish, so you do not report the QCD as taxable income and do not owe any taxes on the QCD. In addition, the assets are put to beneficial use by your parish, making QCD’s a win-win tax gifting strategy.
If you are interested in knowing more about this strategy, please contact your Financial Advisor or your IRA custodian. You will need to fill out a distribution form indicating which charity or charities you would like to receive your gift(s). It is advisable to make this contact as soon as possible as year-end is quickly approaching.
We are not attorneys, financial advisors or tax experts and do not provide specific individualized legal or tax advice, we only want to make sure that faith-filled generous stewards are aware of all tax benefits available to them. Please consult a qualified legal or tax advisor where such advice is necessary or appropriate.
If you have any questions, you can email or call Fr. Mick, and he will see to it that your gift is credited accordingly and has a lasting impact. Holy Family is Truly Blessed with the generosity of so many that help us keep advancing toward our mission of building the Kingdom here in our communities.
